Clarisonic vs. Olay!

I have been using the Clarisonic since its birth!!!  She is my holy grail!  I guess I shouldn't push it, but I think she is fabulous!  I always recommend the Clarisonic ($195).  I can't say it has magically erased my wrinkles, but it most definitely improves the skin's texture, helps with the "fine" lines and I think...has slowed down the aging process.  It removes 6x the makeup, dirt and grime which allows your skincare products to absorb more effectively.  The Clarisonic acts as a gentle exfoliator for your face and that alone sells me on it.  I promise it will benefit your skin and you will be happy you made the investment years to come!!!  If you decide to take the plunge...purchase from Sephora!!!  They have a fantastic return policy, but make sure you keep the box.  In addition if you see a dermatologist on a regular basis, I recommend you get his/her opinion on it before you purchase.  :)

When I bought the Clarisonic, the Mia ($149) was not out yet.  I think Clarisonic came out with the Mia more for travel convenience.  It's smaller, a little cheaper, and more compact.  Perfect for travel!!!  I know a lot of people purchase the Mia for everyday use.  I never take my Clarisonic with me on trips because it's kind of a pain...too big and I already take enough skincare products and makeup with me.  When I don't cleanse with my Clarisonic, my face feels absolutley filthy and I can't wait to get home and use my brush!   I was thinking of purchasing the Mia for quite a while so I can have my beloved Clarisonic with me on trips.  I don't want to spend $150 on something that is going to sit around until we go out of town.  So I purchased the Olay skincare brush for $30.  Now I can live with that sitting around.

Olay!!!  Ok so I have to say nothing compares to the Clarisonic...sorry ladies!!!  Now the two brushes have the same concept, but they rotate differently.  The Olay rotates in a circle and the Clarisonic is more of a vibration.  The Clarisonic is made my the people of the Sonicare toothbrush.  So you can see how they differ.  When I use the Clarisonic I move the brush around in little circular motions.  It is more effective that way!!!  I found you can't do that with the Olay so doing little back and forth horizontal motions works best...I promise!!  This brush is really small, it's cheap, it takes batteries, and it's water resistant like the Clarisonic so you can store it in the shower.  So yes it's worth the $30.  The Olay is perfect for my travel bag or anyone who refuses to spend $150 or more on a skincare brush!  Still not sure?  Think of it this way...which ever brush you choose, it's still going to get your face cleaner than it would using your hands or a washcloth alone... right?!

Here is the size difference between the two.  I think the picture makes the Olay look even bigger than it really is.  I hope you wonderful ladies have a great day and until next time...

  3. Great review. I have the Olay and didn't realise Clarisonic was so big. I paid $22 for the Olay and it's sooo worth it!

  5. I have had the Clarisonic on my wishlist for a few months now, but when I saw an ad today for the Olay brush, I really wondered if I could settle for using it instead. Thanks for helping decide...Santa needs to bring me the Clarisonic :o)

  6. I impulsively purchased the Clarisonic last year. I agree, washing with my hands is no longer enough! It feels like brushing my teeth with my finger instead of a brush! I rarely have pimples anymore and my skin looks and feels better. Indulgent $...yes but I do not regret investing in my face. The replacement pads add up $ also but I can't go back now! I'm sold. I was curious about Olay becuase I would like to get a similar product for my 13 year old daughter. After reading your review I think the Olay sonic cleanser will be fine for her. Great site!! Thanks.

  7. Hello Amber I stumbled across your blog. The information you gave for the Clarisonic was very helpfu. Thanks, I have been thinking about purchasing one. Question: Do you wear false eyelashes and what kind of mascara do you use. I love your lashes.
